This is a really interesting pharmaceutical science artefact linking Paris and Montreal at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. It is still possible to decipher many informations on the blue label printed in black. It reads ... Fougerat, pharmacien de 1re classe, 44 rue Ch...., Paris-Levallois (France). Just under is written Depot General pour le ......(Canada?) : Rougier Frères Montréal. RAMI PARIS is molded on the side of the bottle.
Jean Fougerat is a French pharmacist who made a forture selling his RAMI syrup which was manufactured in his Levallois Paris establishments. This patent medicine contains codeine as indicated on the label, a drug which would be a regulated later on. We can find the following complementary information on the site mentioned below:
