Rare vintage caffè lungo or long espresso ceramic coffee cup and saucer sets.

The oval cups are stamped Hors-serie on the underside as three of the saucers. One saucer is stamped Sial. Sial or Cerval espresso cups are incredibly difficult to find and are much sought after. These ones are in the tenmoku brown color: a rarity. Drinking long or short expresso wasn't that common at the time and these cups are a mid-term between short espresso cups and regular filter coffee cups. They are sometimes called Americano or long black coffee cups. They contain approx. 2/3 cup or 175 mL. A treasure for any collector. Don't miss your chance. Oval, Beaudin's own design from 1978 for SIAL, is the most extensive and important tableware design produced in Canada, where over 25 complementary pieces come together producing a service fit for any occasion. His hand made studio pieces as well as his design for industry, are highly sought after and are in numerous private and public collections. Apart from tenmoku brown, the other complementary colours are off-white, celadon green and celadon grey.

Sial synthetized beautifully craft and commercial techniques. The pottery closed in 1981.

Dimensions: Cups are 2 7/8” (7.5 cm) tall and 3 1/8” X 3 3/8” (8 cm X 8.5 cm) across at the bottom; saucers are 5 7/8" (15 cm) across.
