This rare antique Victorian (1890-1910) fancy Happy Easter postcard features a tiny silk booklet applique on a green silk background glued on top of a postcard cardboard on which is written "A HAPPY EASTER" in raised gilded letters. On the silk, a coloured easter motif of an egg with daffodils is embossed.
Greeting cards of this type were sold in paper envelopes and were seldom sent through the mail without them. They were too fragile and, more particularly, they were too expensive. Usually they were mailed with letters as this one probably was, since the text (in French) seems incomplete.
