Unwritten unused antique Canadian Xmas postcard from W.G. Mac Farlane Publishing Co., Toronto, Buffalo and Berlin (1899-1908). Religious scenes are frequent in late 19th and early 20th century, but this card is special because it is multilingual (French, English, German, Spanish, Italien, Russian). Mac Farlane had become a leading producer of Canadian postcards when he opened an office in Buffalo in 1908, but he soon had to file for bankruptcy. This Christmas postcard dates from that period. Canadian publisher W. G. Mac Farlane was one of the most important importer of postcards made in Germany, most of them by high quality printers such as Meissner & Buch of Leipzig. |
