Vintage sealed envelope of 8 adhesive first aid medical bandage strips from the 1940s. Indications are “First aid for cuts and scratches”. The colors on the envelope are crisp and clear and the envelope has maintained its integrity for all these years. The huge expansion and reorganization of the Armed Forces in the early 1940s, triggered an enormous increase in requirements by the army of all kinds, for large but also for small and inexpensive items such as surgical dressings and supplies. The Sanette Manufacturing Company is one of the manufacturers that was able to meet this increasing demand during WWII by supplying the army with required surgical bandage supplies. |
