Small chests or boxes used to contain precious belongings, and for that purpose were made with great care by skillful artisans. This box panel of superb craftsmanship is made of what seems to be inlaid mosaic of oak, mahogany and satinwood. The geometric design makes me think of renowned artist M. C. Escher decorative designs based on symmetries.

Only a cover, but spectacular indeed! To be hang on the wall.
Dimensions : 18,8 X 30 cm (7 3/8 X 11 7/8 in)
Condition: Perfect condition, slightly convex (wood slightly bent). See photos.
