Pair of vintage hand blown 60's yellow and clear art glass vases.
THE PRICE IS FOR ONE VASE.
These elongated colorful art glass bud vases are mid-century swung vases. Their six-ribbed body ends in a flared flower-shape top. The acidic yellow color is very bright and luminous.
Mid-century swung vases were made by pressing glass into a mold, reheating it and swinging it until the neck gets longer. The mouth of the vase is then tooled and polished and sometimes flared or ruffled. Most swung vases were made in the USA by L.E. Smith Glass Co. and Viking Art Glass Co. but also by makers such as Fenton, Fostoria, Pilgrim and Tiffin. Viking was known for its brightly colored vases. However, this particular pair of swung vases in unsigned and I don’t know the manufacturer for sure.
The opening is fit for a standard size candle.
Approx. 8 ¾” tall and 2 ¼” to 2 1/8” across at the top and 2” across at the base.
