Beautiful vintage hand woven mohair and wool shawl or throw signed La Pinède, Saint-Antoine-Abbé, Québec. 

La Pinède is a grower and seller of angora goats that produce fine fibers of mohair.  They used to sell woven mohair and wool products in crafts markets such as the Salon des métiers d’art in Montréal (Montreal Crafts Show). 

Known for its exceptional warmth and softness, mohair, like wool, is a 100 % natural high quality fiber which will keep you warm and comfortable during the winter. This shawl or throw is not 100 % mohair.  It is rather made of 50 % soft and silky mohair fibers and 50 % fine wool fibers. People sensitive to wool will find it warm and comfortable but a little itchy.  It is a high quality hand woven natural fibers product.

For those who enjoy natural fibers like wool or mohair, it is a real pleasure to wrap oneself in a beautiful hand woven shawl in winter. You really can feel the warmth it procures.
