Large overshot woven Canadian blanket or bed cover of dark red wool on off-white cotton. As tradition dictates, it features a warp of rustic cotton and a weft of wool in dark red. This is a rare entirely handmade and very collectible item. It is reversible. It dates around the middle of the 20th century. It should be noted that the blanket head has a hand-added yoke in the same pattern and colours.

In Quebec, regions marked by English-Scottish influences produce such weavings with highly colored repetitive geometric patterns. This is a beautiful heirloom collectible and perfect for a country decor.
