Antique published N. Currier original c.1850 hand colored lithograph, framed with a new matting, titled THE YOUNG LOVERS and marked in lower left and lower right corners: "Lith & Pub by N. Currier, 152 Nassau St. N.Y. "
This print depicts a very young couple with the girl playing the flute, and we can see trees and a river in the background. The words "117 old in 1974" are hand-written in ink at the back of the antique wood frame. Backing made of solid wood boards. New glass and new matting added. Very attractive and romantic image.
Dimensions: Image only: 8 3/4" X 11 1/4" (22,25 cm x 28,5 cm); frame:12 1/2" X 16 3/8" X 7/8" (41,5 cm X 31,75 cm X 2 cm).
Condition: This print shows its age with toning and fading. Small black dot in upper left side and white spots on the young man coat and next to the title on the bottom right. Patch of glue on top and bottom margins for stabilizing the matt. A part seems to have been torn off at bottom of image. If you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing.
