Probably XIXth or early XXth century etched portrait of the Duchess of Abrantes after Isabey by an unknown artist. The work is unsigned and undated. It is in its original untouched frame.
It was probably inspired by a miniature of Laure Junot who became Duchess of Abrantes during Napoleon first consulate. Stipple engraving and an etched stipple technique known as the crayon manner for producing imitations of red chalk drawings was used.
Dimensions: frame (7 5/8" X 10 3/8") 19.25 cm X 27 cm; print (5 5/8" X 8 1/4") 14.5 cm X 21 cm.
État: Unopened origianl frame. Some toning due to acidification of paper. A few tiny stains.
