Sophisticated hand cut art glass Art Deco period oval vase or bowl featuring a unique fan shape and pattern.
It is probably a Bohemian crystal design product of the early 20th century or an English production by Royal Brierley. It is unmarked. The slightly yellowish clear glass color shows that it is an early piece. Very unique oval shape and cut pattern. The hexagonal design featuring 8 bands separated by clear glass strips makes me think of an unfolded handheld fan with 8 finely decorated fan sticks. Each "stick" features 4 half-circles cut into a slightly textured and frosted clear glass surface, each stick being separated from the next by a clear glass strip. The slightly protruding rounded top of the "sticks" makes the rim. The effect is stricking, very unusual and typically Art Deco. A really nice vintage very modern looking Art Deco piece of collectible art glass.
Dimensions: 9 cm (3 1/2") tall; 19 cm (7 1/2") X 10,5 cm (4 1/8") across at top and 10 cm (4") X 6 cm (2 3/8") at bottom.
Condition: Light scratches on bottom. Very small chips on rim.
Smoke-free environment. Shipping fees always combined on multiple purchase.
