W. T. stands for Whitall Tatum and U. D. CO. for United Drug Co. Indeed, an important element of Whitall Tatum trade consisted of bottles embossed to identify local druggists. In this case, U. D. Co. Which stands for United Drug Co. The small rectangular bottle is very old, probably 19th century (1870-1880) or very early 20th century because of the marking on the base. Mouth-blown bottles are marked with either the “W. T. & Co.” or “W. T. Co.” logo. Machine-made bottles are marked “W/T” in an inverted triangle.
