Reproduction of an antique rough surface frosted glass roman vase or vial. This museum quality replica of an antique handled bottle shows what looked like antique glass objects extracted from the ruins of Pompeii or Herculaneum after the Mount Vesuvius eruption in year 79 A.D.
The bottle is mouth blown with two diagonally applied glass handles, a bulbous body and a cylindrical neck. It features a gorgeous light greenish-blue color glass, a rough textured sand-like finish that looks like the bottle was extracted from the Pompeii ashes and is heavily patinated from the reaction of the soil it was found in with the glass. The same rough texture is found inside the neck of the bottle. There is evidence of a pontil scar on the base.
