Delicate colorful cream dish featuring a kingfisher bird with a long beak perched on a branch against a white background. It is made of fine porcelain, and was produced by Zeh Scherzer & Co around 1910 in Bavaria. The mark on the bottom with the ZS & Co initials denotes the time period of 1880 to 1918. This creamer is in the same pattern than the Zeh Scherzer tea pot B478 in this store.
The pattern is typically Art Nouveau. This small milk container was probably part of a set of which I have the teapot. It seems that ZS & Co produced items exclusively for Geo. Borgfelt & Co in New York during the early 20th century but I don't know if these pieces were part of it.
Dimensions: Distance between spout and back of handle approx. 13,5 cm (5 3/8"); 8.5 cm (3 3/8") tall. Black dot on spout is underglaze.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No damage.
Smoke-free environment. Shipping fees always combined on multiple purchase.
NOTE: All our products are antique or vintage. We strive to purchase and present only items in good to near-mint condition, but most pieces will show some degree of wear that we try to describe and show in our pictures.
