This rust and off-white vintage creamer is typical of the Sial stoneware production. It belongs to an elegant dinner service called Oval designed by talented artists such as Gaétan Beaudin in the 1970s. It has the typical mottled rust and cream glazing of the Sial Oval products. It is stamped Sial.
Indeed, SIAL set of dishes is probably the most extensive and important tableware design produced for industry in Canada, where over 25 pieces combine to make a large, adaptable service for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Sial dinnerware represents one of the greatest aesthetic achievements of the Quebec and Canadian semi-industrial pottery design.
