Nice desk or table tatted runner made of quality mercerized cotton. It is lacy and decorative while being very sturdy.
Tatting is an old craft for making lace and other home decorative ornamentation using shuttles or needles. Tatting allows to do complex pieces with simple stitches. Like quilting, tatting was a group activity practiced by women. It requires patience and precision. In the 1970-1980 period, tatting was very popular. Big pieces like this one are rarer than smaller pieces.
