Here is a classic art deco period table lamp. Vintage from the period of the 1920's-1930's.
This style of design was most popular in the 1920’s and 1930’s following the Exposition universelle des Arts décoratifs of Paris in 1925.
Material: Shiny glazed ceramic (earthenware) with plaster closure, and containing sandy material inside to increase the weight and stability.
Style: Typical of the French Art deco style are the stylized floral design, the geometric motifs and bold lines, and the octagonal shape. Simple style without too much details. Antique gold paint on top part.
Origin: France. The lamp was adapted and electrified for the North-American market. Switch on the cord.
Dimensions
The ceramic base is 12 ¼” tall to the base of the socket and 7 ¾” wide at the bottom.
État/Condition
Fantastic condition with no chips or cracks. Needs a shade. Heavy : weighs a little more than 5 pounds. Functional.
