Exceptional mid-nineteen century Victorian papier-mache hand painted serving or waiter tray with brass bound top edge and decorative brass nails on all four sides imitating leather. It features two integral handles, one on each end and rounded corners. It is nicely hand-painted with a basket of flowers which seem to have just been cut in the garden since there is a tiny ant on the large central rose. This service tray certainly comes from a well-off family or luxury restaurant since it is exquisitely made and of superb quality. It was made in England but is not signed.
