Beauceware pottery promotional 1960s custom made ashtray marked J.G. Marchand Inc., Quincaillerie, Meubles, Matagami P.Q. in raised letters.
Nice multicolor slightly conical shape collectible advertising ashtray made in the 1960s for the promotion of a regional hardware and furniture store. Matagami is a small town in the North of Quebec on the road to James Bay. Nice bright tan and deep red glazing enhanced with a multicolor mottled brown, white and black decorative glazing. Olive green glazing underside. No maker's mark but typical of Beauceware of the midcentury period.

Dimensions: 22,5 cm (8 7/8") long and 12,5 cm (4 7/8") wide at the top and 9 cm (3 5/8") at the bottom.
Ètat/Condition: Very good vintage condition. Slight wear on edge of narrow part.
