Vintage clear glass vase with white enamel pattern of Eve in the Garden of Eden with an apple in her hand and the snake around a tree. This biblical motive is repeated three times around the vase. The vase is extensively gilded particularly the lower portion that is completely gilded. It is very sophisticated and its shape and pattern are unusual. A similar vase found on the Internet is attributed to Josef Hoffman for Loetz and the Weiner Werkstatte.

Its style is that of Josef Hoffman. Many vases designed by that artist present characteristics of the classy probably hand blown (smooth pontil off symmetry) vase I am offering : decor, original design and extensive gilding. It is unsigned but its motif is typical of the Secessionist/Weiner Werkstatte/transitional Art Deco Era.
