Antique Furnivals Ltd large white ironstone oval serving platter featuring raised wheat pattern and curved fluted molded design made in England but sold extensively in Canada. Accordting to the Furnivals stamp it dates from the early XXth century, that is around 1910. It is a very useful and collectible item.
Ironstone china, ironstone ware or most commonly just ironstone, is a type of vitreous ceramic developed in the 19th century by potters in England, as an alternative for porcelain. There is no iron in ironstone; its name is derived from its notable strength and durability.
Measurements: 13" (33 cm) X 11 1/2" (29 cm) X 1 3/4" (4,5 cm). Approx. weight 1,5 kg before packing.
État/Condition: Very good condition for age. Some flaws in glaze surface due to manufacturing. No cracks and no chips. A beautiful useful and collectible item.
