Nice set of rust and off-white vintage bread plates (7" across) of the famous highly collectible Sial ceramic dinner service produced during the 1970's. These plates may also be used for dessert.
THE PRICE INDICATED IS FOR THE 4 PLATES.
The small vintage bread plates are not marked. They are in good condition except for a tiny chip on 2 plates that does not show on the top. Bright rust and cream (off-white) glazing.
Gaetan Beaudin is the talented artist that designed the Sial Oval dinner service. Warm earth tone speckled glaze typical of Sial. The Sial dinnerware represents one of the greatest aesthetic achievements of the Quebec and Canadian industrial pottery design.
Less expensive than the handmade sets, and hard wearing, it was a fusion between handcraft and industry. The design has Danish mid-century influence and was very popular at the time as it still is today.
