Authentic early American brilliant period cut glass serving bowl.
If you are looking for a collectible ABP bowl, this is one. It is a deep cut glass hobnail hobstar serving bowl, probably a berry bowl dating from the late 1800's or early 1900's. This exquisite 6-paneled serving fruit bowl features deep cut glass hobnail hobstars on three panels and 4 aligned hexagons and a top triangle bearing cross hatch cuts on the other three panels. Large stars have 16 points with a 10 points cut hobnail. The sections are separated by bundles of vertical stems. The saw toothed scalloped edge is in good condition for its age with only one tooth half broken. Fanning pattern on the base.
The serving bowl is antique and unsigned.
When not being used as a serving piece, many people will use the fruit bowl to display potpourri, dried flowers, decorative stones or for a floating candle display. See also B168.
