Three green transferware serving pieces in classic shapes and style of an exquisite quality.
These splendid pieces, a lidded sugar dish, a sauce boat and a milk jug or creamer green transferware feature a delicate floral vine & scrolls transfer pattern, scalloped edges, embossed body décor and nicely molded ornate handles and knob. They date around 1900 and are marked Oxford Durability JHW & Sons Hanley England Semi-Porcelain. Oxford is the name of the pattern. There is an impressed number under the base that I cannot decipher. The company J H Weatherby & Sons of England was founded in Tunstall in 1891 in the last part of the Victorian era and moved to Hanley the following year. It made good quality tableware and giftware.
