Very old shoe horn hallmarked Birks Sterling in a sober style embellished with a very fine beaded line and acanthus leaves. The pattern resembles the so-called "George II Plain" in its sobriety and elegance. It could also be described as Art Deco style. The sterling silver handle bears a monogram engraved in a cartouche with the letters S and L. 

The curved part of this shoe horn is quite long, indicating a quality item. The longer the shoe horn, the easier it will be to use. The curved part of this shoe horn is in chrome or silver plated metal.

Measures: 8 1/2" or 21.5 cm overall, handle about 4" or 10 cm.

Condition: Antique object in good condition but with some wear marks: crushed end and small depression marks, especially at the end of the handle. Traces of corrosion on the curved part at the junction with the handle.
